Spiral Dye Stamp

Spiral Dye Stamp is such a cool stamp. It’s a blast from the past remembering when I use to Tie Dye Shirt and other items. You can definitely get lost in the stamp making different color combinations and choosing options ways to color them.

Let me give you some tips in using this stamp. The Stamparatus is a must use tool! Since this is a large stamp you will come across areas that did not take the ink as well as you would of liked. With the Stamparatus you can reink areas and fix them as you go.

When cleaning this stamp I used our Shammy and then stamped on a white sheet of paper (copy paper). This way any areas that are not dry or still have any ink left on the stamp with come off. The stamp with not be solid as it is suppose to have that dye look.

Block Technique

In this stamp I visually divided the stamp into four quadrants. I used the In Color Inks 2021-2023 as my color combinations. This was a very easy way to get multiple color on the stamp.

Don’t worry about them overlapping a little or not meeting in the middle. You can cover this up with a sentiment. Using the Happiest of Birthdays Stamp Set are wonderful sentiments to use in making Quick and Easy cards.

Using the Spiral as a Guide

My next cards are using the Spiral as a guide. I still used the new 2021-2023 In Colors as my guide. Tools that I used on these cards were the Stamparatus, daubers and the Stitched Rectangle Dies.

Following the spiral with a specific color and using a gradient effect I applied the color with a dauber. With this stamp the possibilities are endless. The key is that you will probably have to stamp them twice so using the Stamparatus is a must. After putting on all of the ink I huffed on it to give it a little more moisture before stamping.

Go back thru and reink where necessary, remember this does not have to be perfect because it is tie dyed! HINT – when reinking remember when you are looking at your paper, the area you are reinking on your stamp is upside down. The Spiral Dye Stamp is such a cool stamp so enjoy your blast back to the past!

Groovy Technique

My last card is a simple technique using the Stamparatus. Just stamp the first color which I used Polished Pink. Make sure you get a good coverage before going to the next step. Then moving it slightly to the right you can stamp the second color, Fresh Freesia. Be sure to use a lighter color on this one due to you are stamping over some of the first color. This gives you that fun effect.
